Thinking about the book

For this blog post, I would like you to tell me what page you are on in the book. Then tell me one detail or event that has surprised you and one detail or event that you had predicted might happen. Do not say 'nothing surprised me' or 'I didn't make any predictions! Remember to write at least 3 sentences and proof read what you wrote before you post it.     Im reading the book Cathrine Called Birdy. Im on page 14. One thing thst surpirsed me was that she couldnt be a vilage. She said it would be better. She thinks being the daughter of a king is to much responsability.

    I am on pg. 48 of catherine called birdy. One event that I predicted would happen is for her to make a fool of herself in front of the men who wanted to get married. But what I did not expect to happen is her father to beat her for makeing a fool of herself. I understand that it was not good in that time to send love away but was a beating realy nessicary?

      Carla to Lauren.I agree with you that a beating wasn't neccesary. Why couldn't he have just sat down with her and have a talk? He may have found that she didn't want to be wed off to some stranger. But of course in those times,that never happened.

    I am on page 56 of crispin. what supprised me is that father quinten helped crispin. what i predictid was that father quinten was killed.

    I am on page 27 in crispin.A detail that has suprised me is that when the boy went back to the village were he lived and there were people that were taking down the place were the boy and his mom lived.I thought they might of let him keep the place were he was staying but i guess since he wasn't going to work any more the would take away from him.

    i am on page 26 in this book.i thought that the mom was going to diein this book.But i didnt know that she was going to die so early.lastly,i predict that the boy will accomplish some things in this book that he didnt know would happen!

    I am on page thirteen of Crispin. One detail that has suprised me is when John Aycliffe thinks he can tell Crispin (aka. Astas son) to bring him Crispins ox as a tax for Crispins moms death. After Johns eyes met Crispins I predicted that Crispin would run and find himself hurt or lost and he has. Since I havent read more of the book I predict that Crispin will find a way of life living out in the woods, and that he will develop new friends of his own.

    In the story Crispin The Cross of Lead I am on page 38.One event that took me by surprise was when "Asta's son" saw Aycliffe and the stranger talking in the forest.Alcliffe got so mad that he told the whole village that Crispin broke into the manor's house and stole money from him,and that Crispin was a "wolf's head".I predicted that Father Quinel would turn Crispin in with Aycliffe the night that he went to see Father Quinel.

    I am in chapter 12, page 48 in the book. I am surprised that Father Quinel was killed. I didnt expect to read that he was killed. I am sad that Crispins only true friend was killed because they may of found out he had contact with Crispin. I had predicted that Crispin was being accused of a crime from reading the back of the book. I didnt know however that he was being accused of such a crime of stealing money.

    I'am on page 43 in the book Crispin.The event that surprised me was that they buried down Crispin home because who would have thought they would do that.What didn't surprised me was that they would has blame Crispin for sealing money i saw that coming.

      Julian G to Ronaldo G I agree with you on Crispin's house getting burned down and being surprised about that. Who knew people back then were so harsh. I somewhat disagree with you on Crispin being blamed for stealing money and not being surprised about it. I know he was blamed for a certain crime, but I was surprised to find out the certain crime was stealing money.

    I already have finished the book and what surprised me was that Crispin is lord furnival's son and that lady furnival didn't accept him as a son.Also I predicted that John Accliffe would perish.What also surprised me was that Bear was in some sort of a rebellion and now Crispin is part of that rebellion.

      Anastasia to Ruben. I know i couldn't believe that to and then he kept his mom in the town and made her work because he didn't want anyone to find out. Ouch.... he was so mean. Also I think there family had problems because his son in the begining wanted Crispin to give him his ox to pay for the funeral. Lord Furnival was a very bad boy so was his son, and his wife.:/

    I am on page 54. Early on I predicted that Crispon would lose his one true friend, Father Quinel. From past experiences in books like these, things like that often happen so I applied that to this book. And on page 48 I was right, his throat was slit. I was supprised when a boy named Cerdic led Crispon into a trap. This suprised me because the two boys were about the same age, and it was wrong that he did that to a boy the same age.

    Well, only really one thing surprised me.
    What surprised me was when his mother died, no one did anything really. No birds sang,people didn't say anything at all, they just knelt. This happened int the first few pages of the book.:)

    I am on page 78. One thing that I had expected was that crispin would get caught again. Although, I did not expect he would even survive the Stewart coming after him! It seems like crisis is going to be interesting . It seems like he will stay serf the rest of his life

    I am on page 33 and one thing that surprised me is that the king was lying that Crispin stole the manors money when he had never been in there before.One thing that I predicted might happen was he would be accused for a crime he didn't commit.But I did predict for John Accylife to be mean to everyone especially Crispin.

    I am on page 148.One thing that surprised me was that Crispin got captured and became a servant to someone else almost immediately.One thing I predicted was when Crispin was going to talk to the pope about about his parents and then the boy came and led him in to a trap.I saw it coming

    im on page 14. One thing that surprised me is that crispin didn't know his name. His mom always called him son and everybody else called him Asta's son. Crispn didn't have a father to ask questions to,so he had to figure all of the things he wondered about on his own

    I am on page 16.I was suprised that he was not still hiding and that when aycliffe came after him he stood still until he was just acouple steps away.I expected that one of his parents atleast would die because it was very common back then that people died at a young age.

    im on pg15. im reading catherine called birdy an one thing that surprised me was that she rather be a daughter of a villager that way she wouldnt have to be a worrying about following all those rules that she is under. she said that he rather be a rich lady that way all her servants can do all the work that she has to do.

    I am on page 20. One thing i predicted would happen was that he would run when they saw him , and he very much did. I was right about that. Something that surprised and that is still surprising me is how they treat him. For example when they told him to take his animal to the lord, but they new he needed something to survive from , they didn't care. That was and still is very surprising.

    I am on page 12 of Crispin and one thing that surprised me was that when Crispins mother died no one did anything but just watch them carry her tomb. Another thing i was really surprised about was that John Aycliff makes Crispin bring his ox as tax for Crispins mothers death. I predict that because Crispin ran away he will be found by someone.

    i have gotten to the part whare crispin gets seen by two men and wen they see him he has trouble escaping because of some thorns that he has on his legs.but now i predict that the two men are going to hunt down crisoin and kill him.i aslo think that crispin should run away and find a new life so they wont kill him.

    I im on page 25 in the book.one thing that surprised me was on page 24. where matthew and luke were looking for crispin when they said that they were accusing crispin for theft. that he didnt do. And matthew and luke said they didnt believe that he did that.

    I am on page 35 in Crispin.Two events that surprised me were when they made Crispin (a.k.a Asta's son)pay a death tax and when Aycliffe was talking to the other man in the forest.An event I predicted was that Crispin would talk to Father Quinel and ask him for help.

    I am on page 60 and something that surprised me in the book Crispin is that the Cedric brought Crispin into a trap. This supprised me because it seemed like Crispin could trust him but he ends up being chased around by the bad guys. What I predict will happen next is that he will be caught again and ascape from them.

    Iam on page 21 on Cispin The Cross Of Lead.One thing that has surprised me is that I had predicted that maybe he was being treatend in an unfair way because he had lost his parents.What I predidvted is correct because they are trying to make him give his ox that his mother left him,to the manor house even though they know he will starve.

    I am on page 47 of Crispin and something that surprised me was when Crispin would hide from the people who were hunting him all day long and they never found him. I predicted someone would find him because his hiding places didn't sound very good because one time he hid in a bush. To me a bush isn't a good hinding place

      RachelH to BrookeH I agree with your blog because it was surprising that he had to hide for a really long time,especially without food, shelter, or water.It was also surprising people couldn't find him because everyone was looking for him.It was also scary that anyone could find and or kill him at anytime without him being aware of it.

    I'm on page 36 of crispin. One thing that surprised me was that Crispin could handle being falsely accused so well. I predict that before Crispin leaves town he will be seen and chased.

    I am on page 83 of Crispin. One thing that surprised me is that Crispin found an abandoned village where he met a man named Orson Hrothgar. Orson Hrothgar, or "Bear" as he is called, forced Crispin to make an oath to God that he will now be Bear's servant. One event that I predicted would happen was that Crispin would eventually find a village. But I never expected for Bear to make Crispin his servant.

    I o not now wht page i am in because i have the tap.I perdict that he will find someone to help him.The thing that suprised me was that he sometimes slept with the oxen.What didnt suprise me was that he was in shock after he hit his head.

    So far i am in page 16. Aycliffe is a character that follows crispin. One thing that got me really surprised was when these people went to crispins place and tore it down! I think that crispin is now going to try to escape from his village because he doesnt like it.

      Hello jackie,from my third period class.I mainly think that it was not fair at all because the people that tore down crispins house tored it down because they thought that crispin was a cause of something.I think that Asta, (crispins passed away mother) did something to Acliffe.       I also believe that this is true what you say because why else would they do such a horrible thing to a child!!!I think that Aycliffe ordered them to do that because if he hadn't they wouldn't do that because they would of gotten punished.

    I am on 20. One thing that I predicted that would happen that happened is that he tried to run away. I thought that would happen because its better for him to run away and die. Than to stay and be miserable for the rest of his life until he dies.

    I am on page 95. Alot of thiongs have happend to crispin so far and i am surprised and shocked because he is still going. Also one of my predictions was that on the way he was going to encounter good people and bad people. He met this man and now he is his master and crispin made a pact so he cant run away now.

    I'm on page 25 in crispin. One thing that I really didn't expect coming was when those people went to crispins hut/house and tore it down and burnt it. I don't know why they would do that but it really surprised me. Also when that guy went and slung his sword thing at crispin was shocking because that ceremony thing they we're doing must've been very importnant for them to go that extent of killing him

    I am on page 32 . Something that really got me in the book was when crispin was running because of the crime that he didn't commit , and he was running and running but where ever he was he still had to stop what he was doing and pray! Even though they were ready to kill him he still stopped what he was doing to pray! One thing that i predicted was when in the beginning, when people didn't treat him good. I knew from the start that people weren't going to treat him good!

    I am on page 30 in Crispin. One thing that surprised me in the book was when people thought Crispin broke into the manor and stole money. I predicted that he would soon be proven innocent for his so called “crimes.”
    I hope he makes friends along the way who help him prove his innocence.

      Lindsay to Aisleen: I actually haven't gotten to that part yet-I'm on page 72. I predicted that Crispin would soon be proven innocent for his “crimes” because I thought that he should have a trial before he is accused of theft.     I am on page 43 in Crispin. One event that has surprised me is when the priest did not show up that one night when Crispin and him were supposed to meet at Goodwife Peregrine's House. The event that I saw coming and predicted is when the boy Cerdic set Crispin up so that he would be trapped. I don't like how badly people are treating poor Crispin.

    I am on page 150.something that surprised me was that Crispin got captured and became a servant.
    something i predict is crispin was talking to pope about about his parents. He got trapped.

    I am on page 262! Something that surprised me was that Bear used to be part of the church where they would become a priest or a frier but then he became a street performer which was pretty cool too. I hope you enjoyed the book its pretty sweet. :)

    I agree with sophia why wouldnt anybody do anything.Nobody cared what happened to his mother. Probably the only person that cared was crispin.Crispin was the only one that cared. Everybody else didnt really care they just watched her get carried out.

    I am on page thirty.And one event that shocked was when he ran away and became a wolfs head.Another thing that surpised me is that he didnt know he bacme a wolfs head.Also i predicted that there gonna make a mob n go look for him so they could murder him

    I'm on page 20 on the crispin book because i have been reading my regular Ar book. but anyways the most surprising i had read is when he is on very pleasure and dangerous adventure. because he has to run away or find who blamed him that he murder that person.

      Nick to Triston I agree with you. If I were Crispin I would always look for a dangerous adventure for a reason. I was surprised that crispin would actually do such a thing.

    Im on page 90 in the crispin book. I was really suprised when he found bear, and bear made him his slave. I was suprised you could even do that. What I was also suprised about was that when he went to go meet the priest at the river, someone slit his throught. I was really suprised that some one killed the priest

    Im on pg 20 in the book because i was reading my regular AR book. But so far i think that the book has alot of suspense and dangurous stuff.In the book tho i still don't get tho why people woulod blame him for something he didn't do.I perdict that he's going to get caught.

    I am on page 83 of crispin:the cross of lead.The one event that surprised me the most was Crispin being taken as a servent by a man in a different town.Also how the Crispins new master treated him in the beginning was very mean and cruel.

    the most exciting thing to me is finding out that Catherine has to listen to her father and basically be questioned everyday by him. It was exciting to me because if i was in Catherines shoes i would hate my life because it was very controlled by mu father.

    Right now im in page 115,what surprised me the most of what i've read is that the man that crispin meet "Bear" is not as a cruel person.Crispin first thought that bear would make him his personal slave and would be cruel to him.What crispin found out that bear has been an adventure that has been many diffrent villages

    I am on page 27 in Crispin.A detail that has surprised me is when the boy went back to the village were he lived and there was people that were destroying the place were the boy and his mom lived. I thought the people might of let him keep the place were he was living but i guess since he wasn't going to work any more they would take the place from him.

That is not fair to her because she has to be in the manor all day doing nothing. She thought that being a villager was better than being a kings daughter beacause she pretty much had no rights at all.

The thing that surprised me the most since the beginning of the book was that no one cared that his mom died. even if they weren't the best of friends, they should have gone to her funeral to honor her memory. But no one did, and just because she was a peasant.

    i think the character that changed the most in the book was when even though he had a mob coming after he still didnt give up because he new that some peaple got hurt trying to help him some even got killed so he new it wasnt thi time to die or give up.
